This set of web pages is designed to help people
understand how different traits make a culture. As defined by Dictionary.com,
Culture is The totality of socially transmitted
behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of
human work and thought. Each of these socially transmitted behaviors
can be considered a trait.
In my life, these socially
transmitted behaviors or traits come from many different parts of the
world and many different kinds of people. Together they make the unique
culture that is mine. Each trait below is a link to a page containing
specifics about my culture with respect to that trait. As you can see, the
traits overlap each other. This is on purpose to show that the traits are
very related. For example, food is a major part of our religion.
Each of the links takes
you to a web page where you will find the Dictionary.com definition and some
personal reflections on what trait cultural trait means to me. Each of the
pictures are "thumbnails", to see a bigger picture, just click on any
picture. Caution, these may take some time to load.
Enjoy!
