Environment - Definition

  1. The circumstances or conditions that surround one; surroundings.
  2. The totality of circumstances surrounding an organism or group of organisms, especially:
    1. The combination of external physical conditions that affect and influence the growth, development, and survival of organisms: We shall never understand the natural environment until we see it as a living organism (Paul Brooks).
    2. The complex of social and cultural conditions affecting the nature of an individual or community.

The environment we live in provides us a lot of sun and fun. Since it is so warm here all year around, most people were light clothing al year. I don't even own a jacket!

When my cousins came from Oregon for the summer, we got them skins so they wouldn't burn up in the sun.

When I went to Oregon for my Nonie's birthday last year, we went to the snow. We had to borrow jackets and all the other gear to play in the snow.

Some people think the environment is shared with other being from other planets. This sign is outside Story Musgrave's house.
